Nitta Corporation was founded in 1885 and was Japan’s first manufacturer of power transmission belts. From this beginning, Nitta has expanded its activities into many industrial products. Today, Nitta is active in all types of industrial belting, conveyor systems, air filtration, engineered rubber products, plastic hose and tubing, industrial wipers, and mechatronic sensor systems.
1885
Founder Chojiro Nitta established an enterprise of tanning in Osaka.
1888
For the first time in Japan, succeeded the manufacture of leather belt for transmission.
1906
In Hokkaido started the manufacture of tanning.
1909
Established Nitta Leather Belting Co.,Ltd. and Nitta.
1916
Started the manufacture of rubber belt.
1918
Started the manufacture of glue and gelatine.
1945
Divided and established Nitta Leather Belting Co Ltd., Nitta Gelatine Co. Ltd. and Nitta Rubber Industrial Co.
1965
Nitta Leather Belting Co.,Ltd. changed its name to Nitta Belting Co. Ltd.
1968
Nara Factory built in Yamatokoriyama City.
Establised Nitta-Moore Company Ltd. with Samuel Moore & Co. of America.
1971
Established Unitta Company Ltd. with Uniroyal Inc. (currently Gates Corporation) of America.
1980
Established Nitta International Inc. in USA.
1982
Nitta Belting Company Ltd. changed its name to Nitta Corporation Ltd.
1983
Established Rodel Nitta Company with Rodel Inc. of America.
1988
Established Taiwan Nitta Filter Company Ltd in Taiwan
Acquired 100% shares of Nitta-Moore Company Ltd.
1989
Nitta-Moore Co. Ltd. established a joint company, Korea Nitta-Moore Co. Ltd, in Korea
Established Nitta Industries of America Inc. in USA.
1991
Established Nitta Industries Europe GmbH in Germany.
Purchased Condev Holding B.V. as a belt maker.

1992
Nitta Moore Co.,Ltd. changed the organisation to Nitta Moore Company.
Introduction of CI and started the company reforming movement “New Wave“.
1993
Nitta International Inc. and Nitta Industries of America Inc. were merged into Nitta Corporation of America.
1994
Established Nitta Corporation of Singapore Pte Ltd.. in Singapore.
1995
Listed on the second section of the Osaka Stock Exchange.
1996
Listed on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
1997
Designated as a stock of the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Osaka Stock Exchange.
1998
Head office built in Naniwa-ku, Osaka.
2002
Unitta Corporation Changed its name to Gates Unitta Asia Company.
2004
Rodel Nitta Company Changed its name to Nitta Haas Incorporated.
Nitta-Moore Company established two joint companies,Nitta-Moore Technology(Changzhou) Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Nitta-Moore Itoh Metal Co., Ltd. in China.
2005
Established Nitta Corporation of Changzhou and Nitta-Moore (Guangzhou) Tube Co. Ltd.
2009
Merged and acquired Nitta-Moore Company and Sonac Incorporated.
2010
Established Nitta(Shanghai) Management Co. Ltd in China.
2012
Established Nitta Corporation India Pvt.Ltd. in India.
Worked out a Long-term Management Plan(V2020).
Established Nitta Mechatronics(Changzhou)Co. Ltd in China.
